Somoy TV is set to resume its regular programming on Monday under new management after a brief suspension. The channel announced that broadcasting would recommence at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, just before midnight on August 26, via its social media platforms.
The channel had been off the air since August 19 following a petition by the new management, requesting a one-week suspension to facilitate a fresh start. This decision, which effectively sidelined the previous management, had sparked opposition from the outgoing team.
The court’s ruling in favor of the petition was misinterpreted by some as judicial interference in media operations, raising concerns about the implications for media freedom.
