A Chinese National Emergency Medical Team is set to arrive in Dhaka on Sunday to provide specialized medical care to those severely injured during the anti-fascist uprising that took place in July and August.

The Chinese embassy in Dhaka confirmed that the team is being dispatched following a request from the interim government’s Chief Adviser, Prof. Muhammad Yunus.

The team consists of 10 medical experts from West China Hospital, a top-tier medical institution in China. They are scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on flight MU2035 from Kunming at 1:35 pm, as confirmed by an embassy official on Saturday.

A formal statement outlining the team’s planned activities will be released on Sunday, according to the embassy official.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, along with senior health ministry officials, will be at the airport to welcome the medical team.
