The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers across the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am on Saturday. According to a bulletin, regions such as Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may experience rain accompanied by gusty winds, while Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are expected to see sporadic rainfall. Moderately heavy rainfall is also possible in some parts of the country.

In addition to the rain forecast, a mild to moderate heatwave continues to sweep across the nation, with little change expected in day and night temperatures.

Netrokona recorded the highest temperature in the past 24 hours, reaching 38.5°C, while Bandarban experienced the lowest at 24.8°C.

The axis of the monsoon trough extends from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam, passing through the southern part of Bangladesh. A related trough stretches up to the North Bay. The monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay, with the possibility of a low-pressure system forming over the North Bay and adjacent areas within the next 72 hours, the bulletin noted.
