The Dhaka Pure Food Court has fined Iftekhar Rafsan, widely known as ‘Rafsan the ChotoBhai’ on social media, Tk 1.6 million for promoting and selling an unauthorized electrolyte drink, BLU. The ruling was delivered by Special Metropolitan Magistrate Alaul Akbar of the Dhaka South City Corporation’s Pure Food Court on Wednesday, with Rafsan present in court.
In addition to the fine, the court ordered Rafsan to withdraw all BLU products from the market within seven days.
The case against Rafsan began when Food Safety Inspector Mohammad Kamrul Hasan filed a petition, leading to an arrest warrant issued against him on June 4.
