Rain & Thundershowers Likely Across the Country: Met

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are expected to occur at most locations across six divisions and in many areas of two other divisions, with some regions experiencing moderately heavy to heavy rainfall.

According to a weather forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department for the next 24 hours from 9 AM today, the divisions likely to see rain include Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet. Additionally, many areas in Dhaka and Khulna divisions may also experience similar weather conditions.

The axis of monsoon troughs currently extends from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam, passing across the central part of Bangladesh. An associated trough extends up to the Northwest Bay of Bengal.

Monsoon activity is fairly active over Bangladesh, while it remains weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay.

On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius in Faridpur, while the lowest temperature today was 24.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, recorded until 6 AM today, was 112 millimeters in Feni.

Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.

In the capital, the sun is set to rise at 5:33 AM tomorrow and will set today at 6:35 PM.
