Govt Employees Get 5-Day Eid-ul-Azha Holiday

Eid-ul-Azha

Government employees in Bangladesh will have a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha, from June 14 to 18. This extended break results from the moon being sighted on Friday evening, marking the start of the Arabic month of Zilhaj on Saturday. Consequently, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 17, the 10th of Zilhaj.

Public Holiday Schedule:
Public holidays have been declared for June 16, 17, and 18. Since June 14 and 15 fall on the weekend, the holiday period extends to five days. Therefore, government employees will begin their leave on June 14 and return to work on June 19.

Ministry of Public Administration Announcement:
The Ministry of Public Administration has confirmed that Eid-ul-Azha is a general holiday. Additionally, the days before and after Eid are designated as holidays for government officials by executive order.
