PM Sheikh Hasina to Attend Modi’s Third Term Inauguration

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to leave Dhaka for New Delhi tomorrow, June 7, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as he assumes office as the Prime Minister of India for a third consecutive term.

“The Prime Minister will depart from Dhaka to New Delhi at 4 pm tomorrow and will return at noon on June 9 after attending the ceremony,” stated M Nazrul Islam, the Prime Minister’s speech writer, to BSS.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the invitation to Sheikh Hasina during a telephone conversation on Wednesday, which she accepted.

Narendra Modi is expected to take his oath on June 8, following the BJP-led NDA’s victory, securing 293 seats in the 18th Lok Sabha elections. The opposition INDIA bloc won 234 seats.
