Bangabandhu’s 104th Birth Anniversary to be Celebrated Tomorrow

The nation prepares to honor the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, coinciding with National Children’s Day-2024 tomorrow, in a grand manner.

Born in 1920 in Tungipara village of Gopalganj, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the revered leader and architect of independent Bangladesh, will be celebrated with extensive programs nationwide.

Bangladesh missions worldwide have organized elaborate events to commemorate the occasion.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will issue separate messages this afternoon in observance of the day, which is a public holiday.

National flags will adorn government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings, as well as educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad.

Elaborate programs have been arranged by the Women and Children Affairs Ministry to mark the anniversary.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay respects to the Father of the Nation by laying wreaths at Bangabandhu’s mausoleum in Tungipara, Gopalganj.

Various organizations, including the Awami League, will honor Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi-32.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend a discussion in Tungipara as the chief guest and distribute Tk 5,20,000 among 104 outstanding students in Gopalganj district, in commemoration of Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary.

Numerous events will take place throughout the day in Tungipara and across the country, organized by political, social, and cultural organizations.

Special programs highlighting the significance of the day will be broadcasted by Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television, and other private TV channels and radio stations.
