Shoeb Chowdhury, the newly appointed Chairman of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) standing committee on “press and media,” is a prominent figure with extensive experience in the media industry and various other sectors.
Currently serving as the Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Asian Age and the Chief Editor of Daily Deshkal, Chowdhury has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the media landscape. Additionally, he has held positions such as former Director of FBCCI, former Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Software and Information Services (BASIS), Treasurer of Editors Guild Bangladesh, and Vice President of India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI).
His involvement as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Malta and Vice President of Consular Corps in Bangladesh showcases his broader engagement in diplomatic and consular affairs. Furthermore, Shoeb Chowdhury is the President of Bangladesh Fencing Federation and an advisor to Special Olympics Bangladesh. The FBCCI expects his leadership to bring new insights and innovative ideas to address the challenges faced by the press and media sector in Bangladesh.
